STARTING SALARY RANGE: $69,532.00 - $77,356.00 annually dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $69,532.00 - $100,825.00.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is assigned administrative and management work designed to provide professional support to the Director. These assigned responsibilities will aid the department personnel in the development and ongoing administration of a variety of village programs and services, and in the management of related administrative functions as well as assist in the planning and/or execution of the administrative operations thus freeing top management for more in depth and specialized work. This position will include a strong focus on assisting with economic development initiatives.

JOB DUTIES:
- Develops, coordinates, and/or administers special projects or initiatives at the direction of the Director, with little or no supervision. In the performance of these duties, the position is expected to make decisions on the best course of action for the Department.
- Compiles research to maintain and update economic development information including available site inventory, major employer list, website information, market reports, development impacts and other databases. Analyzes data to develop recommendations for planning, implementing, and reviewing corresponding economic development initiatives.
- Works to assist the Business Retention Visit Program by scheduling visits, taking notes at the meeting, and summarizing the visits for a year-end report. Assists in the end of year report of visit findings that will be presented to Village Board.
- Assists in the reviews of applications for the Cook County 6B program and makes recommendations to management regarding approval/denial of applications.
- Tracks and reports on Key Performance Indicators.
- Supports the marketing of the village’s economic development efforts and new TIF District through reports, emails, newsletters, website, and other social media channels.
- Designs systems and procedures within the position’s discretion and expertise to increase effectiveness, efficiency and economy of work processes, policy determination and management decision-making. Acts in the capacity of project lead for special projects, including meeting facilitation and coordination among employees both within and outside of the Department.
- Conducts organizational and procedural analyses utilizing field investigation and analytical techniques within the position’s discretion to identify, develop and implement practices, programs, policies and procedures, and any other factors affecting service delivery within the Department.
- Attends and represents the village at events outside regular business hours. Events will be related to economic development programs including Schaumburg Business Association programs, ICSC Shows, AIRE seminars, and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in public administration, urban planning, economic development, or closely related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position in local government administration, which shall have been at the level of administrative or management intern or higher.
- Proficiency with current computer software technology, job specific software, and customer service systems. Knowledge of GIS software preferred.
