JOB SUMMARY: 

This position will serve as the mobile crisis worker for the Schaumburg community.   The mobile unit will respond to non- life-threatening mental health and substance use issues.    This position will serve the community offering mobile response to individuals in mental health and substance use crisis.

 

The ideal candidate will need to effectively communicate to a full range of people, be able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals, and shift gears comfortably. To succeed in this role applicants will need the capacity to understand and be sensitive to the feelings of others.

 

This position is grant-funded so it may be time bound if funding ends after one year.

Program and Clinical Director - Amplify Chicago

Who: Amplify Chicago is a justice system to professional pipeline for young people ages 18 to 24 designed to drive economic development and wealth creation in Chicago’s most resilient communities.

What: The Program and Clinical Director is responsible for the design and implementation of the BASE (Business, Academic, Social, Emotional) Coaching model for individual and group clinical supports as well as partnering with the Project Manager on day to day oversight and quality control of the program experience. Organized around the structures and values of a transformational healing relationship, BASE Coaching focuses on addressing traumatic stress in order to maximize academic growth and employment readiness. BASE Coaches work with individuals and small groups serving as coaches, case managers, program navigators and motivational interviewers.

Importantly, this position also works closely with the Project Manager and Program Specialist to insure the day-to-day operations of Amplify’s programming are well executed. This includes serving as the onsite culture and expectations keeper and overseeing logistics and program flow.

This Director is also responsible for BASE Coaching day-to-day data capture and tracking individual progress from assessment through each phase of support and the programming that follows. This position partners closely with the full Amplify team to regularly analyze data and make both short and long-term program adjustments. Additionally, as a start-up initiative piloting its first cohort, this Director is expected to contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the model in order to drive maximum long-term impact. Job Description
The Position:
Health by Design seeks an experienced planning professional to guide its Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program. The program manager will be responsible for the accelerated development, management, administration and evaluation of Health by Design’s Safe Routes to School efforts.
The program manager will work with Health by Design staff and partners, City of Indianapolis staff, employees of schools and school districts, parents, youth and community stakeholders to educate on the benefits of walking and biking to school and to advocate for policies and projects that make it safer and easier for schoolchildren to walk and bike.
The Indiana Safe Routes to School Partnership is a workgroup of Health by Design (www.healthbydesignonline.org), an Alliance for Health Promotion initiative.
This position will require some travel within the state of Indiana; infrequent out of state travel will be necessary for training opportunities. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
This position is funded through December 2016, with the expectation, but not commitment, of ongoing funding. Salary is negotiable; the position includes excellent benefits.
Education & Experience:
A planning-related Master’s Degree is preferred, as is the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) credential. A Bachelor’s Degree in public health, education, social work, community planning/design, engineering, public administration or a related field is required.
Applicants should have a minimum of seven to ten years of professional planning experience.
Position Duties:
The program manager will manage the accelerated development of a formalized Indianapolis/Marion County Safe Routes to School Program, with tasks including, but not limited to:
 Developing and strengthening relationships with the leadership and staff of school districts and individual schools, youth-serving stakeholders, community partners, parents and students
 Convening and coordinating an Indianapolis/Marion County Safe Routes to School Advisory Group
 Assessing existing and past SRTS activities, identifying barriers to walking and biking to school, and tracking rates of walking and biking
 Coordinating the assessment and prioritization of both infrastructure and non-infrastructure needs of schools throughout the county, to initiate a county-wide SRTS planning process
 Pursuing city/county-wide, district and school-based policies in support of SRTS
 Working with City of Indianapolis staff to manage funded SRTS projects
The program manager will guide the Indiana Safe Routes to School Partnership, with tasks including, but not limited to:
 Identifying, recruiting, engaging and maintaining members and partners
 Serving as a subject matter expert on SRTS-related content and best practices
 Documenting and tracking SRTS meetings, activities, updates and tasks
 Representing SRTS efforts at meetings of funding partners and other stakeholders
 Planning and conducting trainings, workshops and educational events for SRTS partners
 Promoting and supporting Walk and Bike to School Day events
 Serving as a resource and coordinator for pedestrian and bicycle safety education for schoolchildren
The program manager will develop and implement a Safe Routes to School communications plan, with tasks including, but not limited to:

Analyst Programmer III, Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development, Case Western Reserve University - Cleveland, OH

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Working under minimal supervision, the analyst programmer 3 will work with a varied team of faculty and research staff to support and expand the technical capacity of the Poverty Center's data systems including, but not limited to its Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Community Data and Organizing system (NEO CANDO) and Neighborhood Stabilization Team online resource systems to collect, manage, analyze and disseminate data to investigators, funders, and other stakeholders. NEO CANDO is a free and publicly accessible social and economic data system of the Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development, a research institute housed at Case Western Reserve University's Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Create and update query interfaces within the NEO CANDO suite of applications. Design, build, test, and maintain complex software systems requiring thorough knowledge of business applications and processes.
  • Analyze and define system scope and objectives.
  • Prepare details specifications and project management plans.
  • Manage the lifecycle of data through import, testing, and production.
  • Gather requirements from end users, assess requirements, and prioritize development activities to fulfill requirements.
  • Work with users, application team and technical staff to diagnose and resolve problems relating to a variety of business processes.
  • Make recommendations for system improvements and enhancements.
  • May direct small project teams as lead coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in social science, computer science, programming, or a field in which statistical analysis or programming is required and 3 to 5 years of progressive experience or Associate's degree and 5 years progressive experience. Master's degree in computer science, social work, urban planning, geography, or other scientific field preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Highly organized with strong quantitative and computing skills.
  • Client and server web programming skills in a Java environment.
  • Analytical skills and knowledge of computing theory.

Associate Researcher, Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago - Chicago, IL

Chapin Hall Center for Children at the University of Chicago is seeking an Associate Researcher to participate in projects focused on capacity building of youth development organizations to improve well-being of children and families systems. This Associate will work on projects in which teams of Chapin Hall research staff of varying levels of expertise work together to complete a range of tasks and dissemination products. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The San Francisco Planning Department has openings for two 9775 Senior Community Development Specialist II positions to work on issues of neighborhood stabilization, housing and small business strategy in our Citywide Planning Division.
This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, inter-disciplinary, and innovative department and share in our vision to make San Francisco the world’s most livable urban place – environmentally, economically, socially and culturally. We work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects and topic areas, both individually and on project teams. In performing our planning work, we work closely with staff of other City and regional agencies, the development community, and the general public. Community outreach and engagement is a big part of our work, and we hold frequent public forums to present and get input on our work.
Under general direction, the Senior Community Development Specialist will be responsible for working with San Francisco communities on a variety of issues, including housing affordability, small business strategies, family retention, and transportation challenges. Currently, particular attention is required in a few transitioning neighborhoods that are experiencing rapid social, economic and development change. This position would serve as a point person from the Planning Department to these communities in understanding the local economic and development pressures while developing and implementing programs and policies that address issues of inclusivity/equity and the stabilization of neighborhoods for quality life-long living. The Senior Community Development Specialist will also work with more established neighborhoods throughout the city, to build capacity among stakeholders to take the lead in shaping their neighborhoods’ best futures. The Senior Community Development Specialist will engage neighborhood stakeholders through a variety of methods, including one-on-one interactions, outreach to neighborhood organizations, public forums, and may staff community advisory committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1.
