Sr. Project Coord. for Operations, UIC Office of Tech. Mgmt.

The University of Illinois seeks a Senior Project Coordinator for Operations to create and implement strategies to successfully manage and grow the operations of the Office of Technology Management in Chicago. Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operational management for the OTM including personnel and office marketing initiatives.  The Senior Project Coordinator will represent the OTM to a wide range of internal and external constituents that are involved in technology commercialization and economic development.

Duties and responsibilities include:
1.            Responsibility for all administrative, strategic and programmatic issues related to the operations of the Office of Technology Management.
2.            Develops, implements, and manages the budget, staffing and operating procedures.
3.            Develop the OTM annual report and annual operating plan, which includes annual goals, metric data and budgets.
4.            Implements and executes programs to foster successful programmatic deliveries including large-scale events across the university and outside the University in partnership with other constituents.
5.            Participate in the strategic planning of the UIC OTM and assist in the development and achievement of OTM goals.
6.            Works with appropriate University departments, faculty, and staff, to advance the goals of technology commercialization from the Office.
7.            Review and assess current internal practices, compare to best practices in relevant business and educational environments and plan future administrative practices to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations.
8.            Review and recommend changes to streamline internal accounting procedures at all levels of the budgeting process.
9.            Assure that all UIC OTM electronic systems contain up-to-date, complete and accurate information at all times and methods for maintaining these systems are established and followed.  Ensure necessary operating and information systems and resources are in place to accomplish strategic goals.
10.          Prepare and/or oversee production of regular and periodic reports for the OTM team and the for the University at large.
11.          Lead and manage department level human resources including working directly ERHR on job description creation, steering committee formation and general recruitment needs.
12.          Monitor the value of HR programs and work with staff to ensure optimal employee recruiting and retention with particular emphasis on motivating and challenging staff to achieve professional success.  Ensure effective and consistent HR practices.
13.          Manage staff and conduct annual performance reviews.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; Master's degree strongly preferred. Other required qualifications include: five years of administrative experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong budgeting and financial management skills; experience with administration, technology commercialization and marketing skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.
