CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Carolyn Grisko & Associates Inc (CGA) - a fast-paced, award-winning integrated marketing communications agency located in River North - has an immediate opening for an energetic and skilled Creative Director to manage and lead the creative process as demand for our unique marketing services rises. We're looking for someone with a solid, balanced background across both traditional and digital creative channels to help translate the complex needs of our clients into compelling communications campaigns.



The Creative Director will be responsible for the creative output of CGA; working with both internal and external teams to concept, design, develop and produce a variety of audio-visual, digital and print projects for client branding and marketing communications campaigns. The Creative Director will supervise our creative and production teams in a hands-on, collaborative manner to bring projects, proposals, branding and marketing communications campaigns to life.



Candidates must have expertise in, and a passion for, creating and managing multi-channel, high volume marketing campaigns. The right person will be both creative and strategic and have a balanced mix of creative, technical and managerial skills.



Responsibilities:

.Direct the creative function of CGA to support its strategic goals and brand; ensuring our high standards of creative and production are always upheld for our clients and our agency

.Manage the design team activity, utilization and professional development, including prioritizing daily/weekly workloads, defining team allocation and supporting training opportunities

.Oversee all creative copy

.Collaborate with the account team to develop strategic communications solutions  to client objectives, while adhering to specs, standards, timelines and budget

.Lead creative process, including participation in existing client and new business project intake/briefing meetings, client creative concept presentations and follow-up meetings





Qualifications:

.Superior leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and effectively manage a team to collaborate and share ideas

.The ability to work independently but also as team player

.The capacity to manage a project from concept to production while working under strict deadlines

.Superior understanding of advertising and marketing principles, including marcom strategies and tactics

.Genuine passion for staying on top of industry trends, including audio-visual, digital, social media, print advertising and OOH. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

Requirements and Competencies:

.At least a Bachelor's Degree in art, graphic design or related studies

.7+ years print and digital design experience

.1-3 years' experience in a managing the creative output of an agency (agency experience is mandatory)

.High level of proficiency on technology standards and usability principles

.Experience with HTML, CSS, Flash Animation, and Word Press/Drupal CMS editing

.Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software

.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

.High level of proficiency in creative retouching, vector illustration, and image manipulation

.Additional experience in film, photography, and video editing appreciated but not a requirement
