This is a reminder (that includes some new information) related to the U.S.
Fulbright Student Program.
This program is designed to fund students conducting research outside of
the U.S., taking courses at a foreign institution, in some situations
completing a degree outside of the U.S., or teaching English. Visiting the
U.S. Fulbright Student Program website (

information on these types of grants, what the viably funded locations are,
and what materials prospective applicants will need to secure.
The brochure for this year's competition was just posted online in the last
week---

Please take a look at this, if you are at all considering applying in the
fall. We have a UIC campus deadline of September 11th, 2012. (I
inadvertently emailed out earlier that our deadline was September 10th.
It's not.)
If you are a recent UIC graduate, you have the option of either applying
at-large or through our institution. I am happy to work with you
(regardless of how recent your graduation date was--- there is no set
cut-off point). You will just have to be able and available to come to
campus in the fall, as needed, to meet with me regarding your application
and be interviewed by a campus committee, and you will be held to the
deadlines set up at UIC.
I sent out a long email a little over a month ago regarding this
opportunity, and requested that anyone interested please respond to me.
Based on the assortment of responses I realized it would be just easier for
everyone involved to submit a short form to me, with their information. (I
apologize to those of you who already communicated your interest to me, but
if you could please complete this form, too, it would be great.) It is very
short and can be accessed at https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/
If I have not responded to your email to me yet, I apologize. I am getting
through them, and will be in touch with you soon. Have a great weekend!
~Sincerely,
Marie Khan
