Energy Impact Illinois is hiring Field Organizers to help generate
single family home retrofits in the Chicago metropolitan region making
homes more economically and environmentally sustainable.____
__ __
Field Organizers will be trained and placed in communities throughout
communities in the Chicago metro area.____
__ __
Responsibilities:____
__ __
·         Implement and be held accountable to a metrics driven field
plan____
__ __
·         Lead and direct homeowner engagement, including outreach to
homeowners at community events and Energy Impact house parties.____
__ __
·         Engage key stake holders including but not limited to local
elected officials and community leaders.____
__ __
·         Recruit, manage and train local volunteer teams____
__ __
·         Build partnerships with  community organizations____
__ __
·         Organize community meetings, events and training sessions____
__ __
·         Develop and implement neighborhood specific messaging with
marketing staff____
__ __
·         Contacting interested homeowners to encourage their
participation in the program____
__ __
·         Data entry and maintaining data integrity____
__ __
Qualifications:____
For both positions:____
__ __
·         Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred____
__ __
·         Passion for environmental issues, economic/social justice,
and/or energy efficiency____
__ __
·         Exceptional verbal communication skills – comfort in speaking
to large groups, facilitating small group discussions, and excelling at
one-on-one interactions____
__ __
·         Ability to effectively communicate and work with individuals
from a wide variety of backgrounds and political beliefs____
__ __
·         Strong written communication skills – can craft professional
letters or e-mail communications____
__ __
·         Strong organizational ability and experience in meeting
established goals within tight time frames____
__ __
·         Self-starter, with ability to work independently and remotely,
as well as within a team____
__ __
·         Familiarity with standard business computer applications –
experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems would be a plus____
__ __
·         Demonstrated experience in effectively leading and
collaborating with volunteers – management or supervisory experience
would be a plus____
__ __
·         Ability and willingness to motivate homeowners to invest in
energy efficiency – prior experience in sales would be a plus____
__ __
·         Familiarity with community organizing or political campaign
organizing strongly preferred____
__ __
·         Familiarity with the Chicago metropolitan area, its
communities, community organizations, and leaders would be a plus____
__ __
·         Bi-lingual Spanish desirable____
__ __
·         Familiarity with energy efficiency upgrades or residential
construction would be pluses as well____
__ __
·         Access to reliable transportation, a personal computer with
internet access, and a cell phone____
For the Team Leads, we also expect:____
__ __
·         At least two years of community organizing or political
campaign field experience with demonstrated success in engaging
volunteers within a community____
__ __
·         Management and supervisory experience of both paid and
volunteer staff____
__ __
·         Experience in managing remote staff a plus____
__ __
·         Strong understanding of community organizing principles____
__ __
·         Willingness and ability to become well versed in residential
energy efficiency techniques, technology, and building science including
completing BPI Analyst certification – requires basic understanding of
physics, math skills roughly at the high school algebra level, and some
familiarity with construction terminology.____
