The Director of the City Planning and Development is seeking qualified individuals to be considered as a member of the Department’s executive management team and the division head responsible for directing all current planning programs within the incorporated area of Kansas City. The ideal candidate will be a strong project manager with a keen understanding of planning and development, one who is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with high expectations. A professional with a demonstrated ability to lead change is imperative. This position requires a results-oriented and hands-on leadership approach to oversee division staff of 12. Candidates must enjoy communicating with a diverse and vibrant urban community. Exceptional interpersonal skills are highly valued and essential in dealing with the array of stakeholders served. Monthly salary range is $5,607 – $9,478 DOQ plus an excellent benefits package including retirement. This position is open until filled, the first review of resumes to begin July 19, 2010.
