Job Description

General Summary:

The EEO Coordinator will report to, and perform duties pursuant to, the strategic direction of the Assistant Vice President for the Office of Institutional Diversity. This position will be responsible for the investigation of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and retaliation complaints pursuant to the University's Anti-Discriminatory Harassment Policy and the Sexual Harassment Policy, and the coordination of the University's Affirmative Action Plan ("AAP"), which involves planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the AAP, as well as the management of information collection and reporting and ensuring University compliance with EO 11246, and any other AAP related activities. The EEO Coordinator will also attempt to resolve those allegations or concerns through the alternative Dispute Resolution Program, and provide dispositional recommendations to the Vice President. Additionally, this position will develop and conduct University wide training for these policies and programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

* Investigate general complaints involving the AAP, discrimination, harassment, and similar charges on behalf of DePaulUniversity by intake of investigations, performing fact-findings to determine validity of complaints, interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, providing written and verbal communications involving investigations, advising decision makers about investigative disposition and course of action, providing comprehensive statistical reports to the Vice President and DO/I, and administrating the case management system.
* Manage the University's Affirmative Action Plan ("AAP"), which involves planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the AAP, managing information collection and reporting, ensuring University compliance with EO 11246, any other AAP related activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, provides informative briefings to the University community, works with various University offices to develop and effectuate the AAP, and establishes programs and processes related to the Plan.
* Utilize the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program to attempt informal resolutions of complaints.
* Develop and conduct University wide training related to the Anti-Discriminatory Harassment Policy, the Sexual Harassment Policy, and the Affirmative Action Plan.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent of three to five years of work history in EEO.
* Experience investigating and resolving charges of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, or related retaliation.
* Knowledge about applicable Affirmative Action and discrimination/harassment laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Experience resolving conflict and utilizing alternative dispute resolution methods.
* Experience developing and providing comprehensive training to a diverse audience.

* Expertise with workplace computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Ability to quickly master applications for use with AAP.

* Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while also collaborating in a team environment.
* Demonstrate ability to work with senior leadership, stakeholders, constituents, and culturally diverse populations.

* Ability to work weekends or evenings as investigations may result in witness interviews during non-business work hours.
* Willingness to travel as investigations may result in traveling to interview witnesses, examine evidence, or participate in legal/regulatory activities.
