Purpose of Position:
To direct the work of the Economic Development Division of Enlace Chicago.

Primary Job Functions:
• Provide strategic direction of the Economic Development division directly influencing the organizations direction in new and existing initiatives.
• Coordinate and drive relationships with key internal and external partners.
• Develop budget and fundraising plans that support both the long term and short term objectives of the division and organization.
• Maintain project controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Operate areas of responsibility within approved budgets and staffing levels.
• Prepare monthly management reports.
• Develop strong working knowledge of participants and partners.
• Ensure that projects meet participant and partner needs and expectations of quality.
• Maintain direct communication with senior management.
• Lead presentations of division to senior management, partners and potential funders.
• Evaluate external advances in the field to improve participant and partner satisfaction level.
• Effectively liaise with direct reports.
• Supervise and provide strategic professional development for program coordinators within the Economic Development division.
• Meet weekly with other Enlace Chicago Directors helping to shape and carry out our organizational strategic plan.
• Support other divisions when necessary.
• Interact with news media to promote Enlace Chicago vision regarding Economic Development.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Requirements:
• Experience in Urban Community Development.
• Experience with industrial retention programs, expansion programs, and small business development.
• Experience with real estate development, housing programs and housing initiatives.
• Familiarity with grants reporting, tracking, and monitoring is preferred.
• Knowledge of Little Village community and its existing challenges and opportunities.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, people and presentation skills
• Computer literacy is required - Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

Educational Requirements: Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Public Policy, MBA or a related field of study.

Language Requirements: Bilingual required (English/Spanish, oral and written)
