Description of Work

The Fiscal Research Division (FRD) seeks dynamic individuals with strong analytical skills who excel under pressure.  FRD Analysts are nonpartisan and serve as the primary budget and finance staff to the North Carolina General Assembly’s 170 members, as well as its funding and policy committees.  We are looking for team players to help build the State’s $30 billion general fund budget and analyze issues that are complex, diverse, and cross multiple subject areas.

Job Summary	Cleveland State University is searching for active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. We seek a tenure-track assistant professor to invest in our nationally ranked program in urban policy/city management, with research and teaching expertise in either local government finance/budgeting or in local government operations (service delivery and evaluation). The successful candidate will contribute to our graduate public administration program, including the Master of Public Administration, the public administration track in the Ph.D. in Urban Studies and Public Affairs, and the undergraduate track in public management in the BA in Urban Studies and/or the proposed BA in City Management. The start date is August 15, 2016.
Minimum Qualifications	Ph.D. in public administration, political science, public policy, economics, finance, or related field; ABD candidates must complete all requirements for the Ph.D. by July 1, 2016. Also eligible are reflective practitioners who hold an appropriate advanced professional degree (MPA, JD, MBA, etc.) and at least 10 years experience accompanied and a record of reflective writing on practice. A research record commensurate with rank is also required. Interest in raising external funding, and working with the Great Lakes Environmental Finance Center, the Public Management Program, or other applied research centers and programs in the College.
Preferred Qualifications	Research expertise in local budgeting and finance or in local government operations (service delivery and evaluation); ability to contribute, through research/scholarship, teaching,and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the Levin College. Demonstrated expertise in teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public financial management, public budgeting, and/or local government operations , as well as general public administration, and to contribute to the areas of urban policy and public management. Experience teaching, supervising, and advising students of various cultural backgrounds, including backgrounds distinctly different from one’s own. Evidence of ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds. Ability and interest in raising external funding, and working with the Great Lakes Environmental Finance Center, the Public Management Program, or other applied research centers and programs in the College.

The Department of Planning, Public Policy and Management (PPPM) at the University of Oregon invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank. Strong candidates with research and teaching interests in any policy or management area will be considered, as long as the candidate is willing and able to teach some of the courses noted below. Research that informs a broad audience of academicians, policy makers, and practitioners is of particular interest to us.  While the subsector focus of the individual field is open and you will find our department a supportive place for furthering your specific focus in research, we seek candidates who are able to consider broad applications of evidence-based policy making and management in the classroom.
