Transportation and Mobility Planning is responsible for planning, designing, and operating the transportation and mobility infrastructure for the City and County of Denver (CCD). The division is responsible for programming changes to the city's multimodal transportation system. It also reviews, evaluates, implements, and maintains transportation system improvements. The staff in the Planning Division are leaders in urban transportation, and work to implement the Mayor’s Mobility Action Plan.
Transportation and Mobility Planning team is seeking a qualified Associate City Planner with expertise in multimodal transportation; transit, pedestrian, and bicycle planning. This position is responsible for advancing the implementation of the Transit program and other multimodal priorities within the Transportation and Mobility Planning Division of DOTI.
As an Associate City Planner for the Transit program, duties would include, but are not limited to, the following:
The duties of the Associate City Planner include:
- Administer the Employee Transportation Program for the City and County of Denver’s approximately 13,000 employees, developing, delivering, and incentivizing programs for using alternative transportation and reducing drive-alone rates.
- Assist with long-range and project-specific planning projects and multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional planning efforts by recommending changes and/or modifying plans and projects to ensure consistency with Denver Moves
- Conduct studies and research on transit utilization, service, operations, treatments, assets and commuter benefits
- Support planning and design of capital projects and services such as shared bikes and scooters and neighborhood-scale transit
- Prepare variety of visual materials including advanced graphics, maps, and charts to synthesize and communicate technical and complex information to a variety of internal and external audiences
- Participate in stakeholder engagement, planning committee meetings, with neighborhood groups, City Council, and other impacted communities on transit and multimodal issues
