PCS is seeking candidates for the position of GIS Analyst working to manage the data and information generated during the design and construction of our infrastructure projects. As an integral role on our project teams, this position is responsible for data acquisition, mapping, and geospatial analysis on assigned projects and will work closely with engineers, project managers, clients and third parties to ensure the proper management of all spatial data. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acquire, organize and maintain project related data from internal, public, client or third party sources into a database to accepted standards.
  • Develop spatial models and maps related to project data. Maps are to be used in publications, websites, meetings and exhibits presented to various project stakeholders.
  • Effective planning/organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Deal directly with external sources for data capture.
  • Research and confirm accuracy of all data received, updating or notifying the responsible party when updates are necessary.
  • Perform basic database analysis and maintenance involving daily GIS applications. Perform mapping, data entry and editing activities to create new and update existing pipeline centerline and maps.
  • Experience involving linear infrastructure (pipelines, transmission lines, roads) is preferred.

Qualifications include:

  • Education: BA/BS in Geography, Computer Science, or GIS-related field
  • Experience:
    • 3 or more years with ESRI software including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE.
    • Concepts and principles of geospatial data management and cartographic principles.
    • Experience with PODS, AutoCAD, Blue Sky products are a plus.
