The Lassen County Senior Planner develops, plans and implements complex professional planning projects; prepares plans, technical reports, initial studies and environmental impact reports, and completes and monitors grants and grant applications. 
$23.09-$27.84 hourly, plus benefits
1. The Lassen County Senior Planner gathers and evaluates data, designs and develops comprehensive plans from acquired data.
2. Prepares complex reports on a wide range of planning issues pertaining to general and specific plans, subdivisions, variances, environmental impact and zoning matters.
3. Makes presentations to the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, developers, community groups and outside agencies.
4. Resolves disputes between the County and developers/property owners.
5. Provides information to the public.
6. Provides contract administration on consultant contracts.
7. Assists in directing, training and evaluating staff, as directed.
8. Writes grant applications and manage grant programs and budgets.
Education:  Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in rural/regional community planning or related field preferred.
Experience: Four years of progressively responsible professional planning experiencer in a specific area of planning, such as urban and regional planning, or natural resources. An advanced degree in planning or related field may be substituted for up to two years of professional experience on a year-to-year basis.
License:  Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license.
