Assistant Account Executive, Resolute Consulting - Chicago, IL

Assistant Account Executive – Chicago Office

Resolute Consulting’s Assistant Account Executive (AAE) program consists of highly-motivated, career-oriented professionals with a passion for public affairs and strategic communications.

Our three-month AAE program provides real-world experience as key members of client teams. Many of Resolute’s former AAEs have been offered full-time positions on our staff or completed their program with the experience to have successful careers in government, business, advocacy, not-for-profit organizations, public relations or marketing. We seek qualified individuals who are interested in a career in public affairs and have the skills to hit the ground running as an important part of client teams.

Role Description

This AAE position will support the infrastructure practice group and is heavily focused on research, writing, and project management. The AAE will be responsible for writing memos, briefings, reports and presentations as needed for clients. In this role, the AAE will be analyzing complex issues and preparing briefing materials for a broader audience. The AAE must maintain a strong understanding of current events and be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities. In addition to supporting staff functions and daily activities, the following are key areas of focus:

 Research – Conducting quality research from reliable sources, updating research as needed, and tracking current events by industry or geography – depending on needs of the client

 Writing – Drafting memos, news releases, letters to the editor and op-eds; compiling reports; analyzing budgets and synthesizing studies; packaging research findings and developing useful reports

 Presentations – Developing presentations and other collateral materials in a client-ready format

 Communications / Media Outreach – Monitoring client media coverage; building media lists; researching media contacts; drafting and assisting with placement of media releases, letters to the editor and op-eds

 Community Relations / Events – Assisting with community outreach as well as coordination of event logistics for client activities

 Online Activities -- Managing social media campaigns as well as updating client or campaign websites

This is a full-time, three-month long position in Resolute’s Chicago office.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in infrastructure, public policy, finance, current events and government. Qualifications must include:

 Bachelor’s degree in a communications, journalism, urban policy, political science, or a related field

 Excellent written and verbal communications

 Strong, rapid and thorough research skills

 Mastered skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 Strong eye for design and presentation skills

 Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines

 Good organizational skills

 Attention to detail and accuracy

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
