Research Associate/Research Analyst
MEF Associates is a small business offering a full range of evaluation, policy research, and technical assistance services in the areas of income security, employment, training and workforce development, and child and family policy. Our mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals, children, and families by building knowledge and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of public policy and programs.
We are seeking a Research Analyst/Research Associate to support our ongoing work on an array of research and evaluation projects. This work represents a mix of quantitative and qualitative research on projects dealing with issues such as: food assistance, employment and training, early childhood education, disability, welfare, and child support enforcement. This position represents a unique opportunity to join a growing business and to work on a variety of large scale policy research and evaluation efforts.
Responsibilities:
The Research Analyst/Research Associate may be involved in multiple stages of projects. Responsibilities could include:
Assisting with field research
Conducting data analysis
Participating in ongoing research and evaluation work
Contributing to reports, proposals, and presentations
Conducting literature reviews
Qualifications:
A graduate degree in economics, statistics, public policy or related fields is preferred. Ideal applicants will also have at least 2-3 years of experience on relevant research and evaluation projects. Candidates should have relevant experience that demonstrates progressively increased responsibilities and project management expertise. Experience working for federal, state, and private clients on social policy issues is a plus. Strong writing and communication skills are essential. This job will involve responsibilities for multiple projects at any given time, and requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize a varied workload in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills. Experience with statistical programming (e.g., SAS, R, Stata) is preferred.
Salary and level will be commensurate with experience. Candidates with more extensive experience will be considered for the Research Associate position. Comprehensive fringe benefits offered.
MEF Associates has offices in both Seattle, WA and Alexandria, VA. This position will require occasional travel.
