*2012 Special Agent Job Announcement*
On June 15, 2012 the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will open a vacancy announcement for GS-1811 Special Agent positions. The announcement will be open for 32 calendar days, closing on July 16, 2012. In order to be considered for a DEA Special Agent position, individuals must meet specific qualifications and eligibility requirements as described on the DEA Special Agent website (http://webster/dea/job/agent/bef qualifications.html
). In addition, applicants must pass all phases of a rigorous hiring process. This includes successfully completing a 3-part written assessment, an oral interview, urinalysis drug screening, medical examination, physical task assessment, polygraph examination, psychological assessment, comprehensive background investigation and final hiring decision.
Individuals wishing to apply must do so on-line via the USAJobs.gov website. Per the “How to Apply” section of the job announcement, application forms must be printed out and submitted to the nearest DEA Field Division Special Agent Recruitment Coordinator. No applications may be submitted to DEA Headquarters.
Applicants who submit a complete application package will receive an email invitation from Assessments@USAJOBSAssess.gov to complete a two-phase series of self-assessment questions. The email invitation will direct applicants to complete online job-related testing and will include directions for accessing and logging onto the website. Those who successfully complete Phase 1 testing will receive a second e-mail invitation to complete Phase 2 testing. Applicants who successfully complete/pass Phases 1 and 2 testing will be rated and placed into one of three category levels (Best Qualified, Highly Qualified, or Qualified). Only applicants within the Best Qualified category will be considered for further processing.
