The CDC-sponsored Chicago Prevention and Intervention Epicenter (C-PIE,
Robert A Weinstein, PI) at Rush University Medical Center/Cook County
Hospital is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant.The 12-month
position will commence immediately.
*Job Summary*
C-PIE is seeking a part-time research assistant for a CDC-funded
research project that is focused on reducing cross-transmission of
antibiotic-resistant bacteria at high-prevalence healthcare facilities
in metropolitan Chicago.The research assistant will work with a
10-member research team that comprises physicians, nurses, a database
coordinator, a statistician, and research laboratory technicians.
*Specific responsibilities include the following.*
§Extraction of data from patient charts
§Manual and electronic data entry
§Assisting with patient specimen collection
§Assisting with monitoring of healthcare adherence to infection control
measures such as hand hygiene
Minimum Requirements:
§Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a health or science field.//
§Detail-oriented, reliable, timely and accurate completion of study
functions
§Ability to work with a team and flexibility in completing other study
tasks as needed//
§Comfortable in clinical situations//
§Solid computer and data management skills
§Knowledgeable in medical terminology
Starting Wage:$14.00
Hours: 10-20 hours per week
