Job Description

POSITION: Communications Manager
STATUS: Full-time, exempt position
REPORTS TO: Deputy Director for Programs

POSITION SUMMARY:

The American Society for Public Administration has an opening for a full-time Communications Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic public awareness efforts for the Society, managing the society’s websites, and will play a significant role in ASPA’s expanded use of new technology in supporting member services.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate efforts that support organizational goals, attract new members and customers, and increase the Society's visibility among strategic publics
* Provide strategic management and development support to the expansion of ASPA's websites and social media programs as member service tools.
* Write and distribute press releases, articles, newsletters, and surveys; maintain media and subject matter expert lists
* Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED:

* Bachelor's degree.
* Relevant experience
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
* Team player who can maintain a sense of humor and flexibility
* Excellent computer skills

HIRING SALARY RANGE:

$40,000 - $43,000 DOQ
