Region Nine Development Commission seeks a full-time Resource Development Planner to join the Community Development Department.
The Resource Development Planner is responsible for research, grant writing, project development and project funding for the department and the organization. This position acts as the primary resource for local government, businesses and organizations regarding funding for a wide range of community development needs. Responsibilities will include data analysis, technical writing and presentation of data. The Resource Development Planner is also the primary staff for Region Nine Area, Inc., a non-profit entity of the Region Nine Development Commission. Other position responsibilities include project management and support for hazard mitigation, solid waste, active living, transportation and community comprehensive planning. Some evening meetings and travel will be required.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, have strong verbal/written communication skills and extensive software skills with Microsoft Office, SPSS and GIS. A Master’s Degree in Urban Studies or Public Administration is preferred. However, a four-year degree in Urban and Regional Studies with related work experience will also be considered.
