The University of Illinois seeks a(n) Real Estate Specialist to provide analytical and technical real estate support for planning, evaluating and expediting lease, acquisition, disposition, and development activities. Additional responsibilities include:
Duties:
1. Coordinate lease and license document approvals with Legal, Risk Management and Facilities Management Departments as well as and customer units.
2. Draft lease, license and easement documents in accordance with standard University procedures and procurement standards.
3. Organize, coordinate and manage lease database, files and records so as to assure all deadlines are met including maintaining the project list data base.
4. Provide services and develop relationships with UIC campus end users
5. Assist in implementing contract management system for department and/or other procurement and compliance related initiatives.
6. Other duties as assigned appropriate for a Real Estate Specialist.
Qualifications:
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or a related area (emphasis in real estate finance preferred).
2. Brokers license or ability to attain.
Required:
1. Two years' experience in real estate related business operations.
2. Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets.
3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills to address difficult, complex issues.
5. Strong interpersonal skills that reflect courtesy, diplomacy, and a collaborative approach to develop and maintain effective work relationships.
6. Ability to work independently and to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all work assignments.
7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work accordingly to meet deadlines while staying on task with daily assignments.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
1. Experience in negotiating transactions.
