Transportation for America-Illinois Fellow Job Description

**

*Constituency and Field Partner and Allies Relationship Management  &
Mobilization*

·While the primary responsibility for maintaining relationships will
fall to the current field and outreach staff, the fellow will be given
the opportunity to engage in outreach and cultivation of partners in
Illinois, on a limited basis under the supervision of the Organizer.

·Drafting and formatting partner emails to partners (T4A will provide
some instruction and background to the communication needed)

*Research and Analysis*

·Research per outreach matrix on possible constituency and field targets
(ie., finding local chambers etc) with experience with planning, finding
data on local rail stations on the Lincoln Line from Chicago to St. Louis

·Contact local MPOs and planning agencies to learn more details about
specific transportation projects.

·Some help with analysis, depending on the fellow’s comfort with
applicable programs.  Possible travel to cities and towns along the
Lincoln Route

*Communications Support*

·Assistance with report releases, contacting media and following up on
press conference invitations.

·Materials development, including layout and editing materials (with
permanent outreach or field staff as leads).

*Hill Outreach Support*

·Assistance sending updates to Congressional staff

·Opportunity to attend some lobby meetings with Illinois organizer.

*Meeting and Event Management*

·Assist with organizing outreach events (e.g., fly-ins, briefings,
receptions, coalition meetings)

*Administration and Information Management*

·Data and information management (for example, taking notes on calls,
helping to update the partner database)

·Maintenance of salesforce database.

Position salary is $1,500 a month, no benefits. If interested, please
