Transportation for America is hiring a Fellow to assist our Illinois field organizer with outreach and cultivation of partners in Illinois, on a limited basis under the supervision of the T4 America Illinois field organizer. This Fellow will be based in Illinois.Research and Analysis
- Research per outreach matrix on possible constituency and field targets (ie., finding local chambers of commerce, etc.) with experience with planning, finding data on local rail stations on the Lincoln Line from Chicago to St. Louis.
- Contact local MPOs and planning agencies to learn more details about specific transportation projects.
- Some help with analysis, depending on the fellow’s comfort with applicable programs. Possible travel to cities and towns along the Lincoln Route
Communications Support
- Assistance with report releases, contacting media and following up on press conference invitations.
- Materials development, including layout and editing materials (with permanent outreach or field staff as leads).
- Drafting and formatting emails to partners (T4A will provide some instruction and background to the communication needed)
Hill Outreach Support
- Assistance sending updates to Congressional staff • Opportunity to attend some lobby meetings with Illinois organizer.
Meeting and Event Management
- Assist with organizing outreach events (e.g., fly-ins, briefings, receptions, coalition meetings)
Administration and Information Management
- Data and information management (taking notes on calls, helping to update the partner database, etc.)
- Maintenance of Salesforce database.
