Public Policy Analysis Position, 2013-2014

The Department of Public and International Affairs at the University of North Carolina
Wilmington invites applications for a position as a tenure-track assistant professor to
teach classes in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program and undergraduate
classes as needed. Position starts August 2013. A doctorate in Public Administration,
Public Affairs, Public Policy, or a closely related field is required or must be obtained
within the first academic year of employment. An M.P.A. and/or prior professional
experience are desirable. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses in the
core curriculum (e.g., policy analysis, quantitative methods) and our concentration in
public policy analysis (e.g., program evaluation, benefit-cost analysis). The successful
candidate should also be able to contribute courses to the MPA program’s other
concentrations (e.g., urban and regional politics and planning, coastal planning and
management, environmental policy and management, marine policy), the new Masters
in Coastal and Ocean Policy, or the new Masters in Conflict Management Resolution
offered by our department. A willingness to teach courses via distance education
technologies and alternative scheduling formats is also preferred. Additional information
