We are seeking a Director, Major Gifts to maintain relationships with existing major donors, identify prospects, cultivate, solicit and steward both new and existing donors.
Responsibilities
- Provide input into development of annual plans and overall strategy to increase the numbers of high net worth donors with capacity and inclination to make six and seven figure gifts and to increase the size of their gifts.
- Develop strong strategies to grow and expand major giving opportunities. Identify major donor prospects and develop individualized donor strategies in order to engage major donors with Save the Children and connect them with senior leadership.
- Execute the donor cultivation strategy and make ongoing assessments and adjustments, as needed, to ensure successful solicitations. Meet agreed upon revenue targets as assigned.
Required
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 7-10 years fundraising experience.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with a variety of constituents and high net worth individuals.
- Proven track record of raising six and seven figure and planned gifts.
- Exceptional listener with ability to understand the needs and motivations of others, find common ground and build trust with internal and external stakeholders, and synthesize a wide range of information into compelling narratives.
- Excellent writing, communications, and presentation skills.
- Approx. 30% travel, primarily domestic
