Oct. 9 Deadline to Apply to Present at APA Conference-Chicago

AMERICAN PLANNING ASSOCIATION

APA's 2013 National Planning Conference may be months away, but the deadline to submit a proposal to present in Chicago is fast approaching.
Don't miss your chance to make an impression on future colleagues and potential employers by presenting a poster or delivering a capstone presentation.

Posters showcasing student research and projects are displayed in the high-traffic exhibit hall. Student capstone presentations offer the opportunity to introduce a semester-long project in a seven-minute slide presentation.

Submit your proposal online, for either session type, by October 9

On a tight budget? No worries.
APA student members pay a discounted conference registration fee and can volunteer at the conference to earn extra money. Many colleges and universities also make funds available to students interested in attending professional conferences. But take note — these funds are often distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so ask your department head today how you can tap into them to attend APA's 2013 National Planning Conference.

Looking for credits? Find them in Chicago.
The conference will energize your studies and you could leave it with credits in hand. Visit with your professors to find out how you might construct a mini-course, independent study, or other credit opportunity around a selection of the hundreds of sessions on offer.

With a special program focused entirely on students and new professionals — including the always-popular resume clinic — APA's 2013 conference is one you won't want to miss. Visit www.planning.org/conference for more information. Online registration opens in early December.
