Part-Time Recruiter and Data Manager Positions at UIC

The Community Outreach Intervention Projectsat the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health is seeking a part-time Recruiter and a part-time Data Manager for a federally-funded study to prevent HIV/AIDS among African American girlsin psychiatric care and their mothers.

Responsibilities and Qualifications include:

Recruiter: Recruit and track girls and their mothers for enrollment and follow-up in the research study; make contact with girls’legal guardians to explain the study, retrieve consentand conduct research interviews, maintain an ongoing relationship with the family; maintain communication with mothers and daughtersusing various communication media (mail, telephone, email, and texts) to send reminders, and verify contact information throughout the study.Maintain confidentiality of all research participants.

Qualifications:

Degree/experience in a relevant area such as public health, psychology, or social work preferred; strong interpersonal skills and exceptional professionalism;strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously and complete job responsibilities independently.

Data Manager: Conduct research interviews,baseline and follow-up assessments with participants in the study; create research protocol using ACASI programming and maintain project databases using SPSS; create and maintain a database documenting recruitment/assessment, and follow-up activities; manage data verification and retrieval for the project; enter and verify data; review files for missing data, clean and merge data, ensure the integrity of data
collection on and off siteand maintain confidentiality of all research participants.

Qualifications:

Experience in the collection, verification and management of data for a longitudinal study; experience in ACASI programming, Access, Excel, and SPSS preferred.Candidates should also be detail-orientated, have strong
computer and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and with a team.
