Brailsford and Dunlavey Project Intern Position

Overview:

Reporting to a project executive, this position performs a variety of essential administrative tasks that supports the program management activities of a project team. Comprised of a project executive, project managers and analysts, the project team performs planning, pre-development and implementation assignments for one or more of the following client types: campus housing, intercollegiate athletics, campus recreation, student unions, arenas, stadiums, campus edge developments, independent and charter schools, or community recreation. Client deliverables include master planning activities, site analyses, needs assessments, program planning, financial modeling, and market analyses.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintains project-related documents including drawings, project binders, client correspondences, meeting minutes, action items, invoices, and similar items.
  2. Assists with project-related financial issues including budget monitoring, revenue and expense tracking, reconciliation, and reinburesment processing.
  3. Researches, analyzes and presents project-related data to project mangers and executives so that they may make informed decisions on methodologies, strategies, or required tasks.
  4. Prepares and distributes correspondences to include meeting minutes, project summaries, reports, and financial information.
  5. Maintains project-related website postings.
  6. Follows up as needed on project-related tasks such as permit processing, utility scheduling, and FF&E coordination.
  7. Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
  8. Performs quality control activities that ensure error-free reporting to clients to include editing for content and proofreading for grammar.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, architecture or a related field. Preferably a student entering their junior year.
  • Directly related work experience in architectural, construction management, engineering, or facility planning field is highly desirable.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

Human Relations:

  • Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves: routing calls, troubleshooting, or providing information.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Work Environment

  • Office environment; moderate noise.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work.

Equipment

  • Office equipment/computers 8 hrs per day.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting at desk or table up to 6 hrs per day
  • Standing or walking
  • Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement (while operating computer equipment)
  • Eye-hand coordination (keyboard typing)
