Proceeds from its annual conference and other events are used to fund data and research on issues of importance to lenders, investors, developers, operators and others interested in meeting the housing and care needs of America’s seniors.
Position Responsibilities
The Senior Research Analyst for NIC (www.nic.org) will be an experienced analyst with an eye towards identifying future trends and a self-starter who thrives in an organization with multiple stakeholders. The position is a senior member of a smart and driven staff of analysts with expertise in econometrics, statistics and data analyses. Based in Annapolis, MD and under the direction of the NIC Research Director, the Senior Research Analyst will work closely with full-time and part-time staff, consultants, periodic interns as well as the VP of NIC MAP (www.nicmap.org) and the NIC President.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
• Produce quantitative and qualitative analyses for dissemination by NIC. This includes econometric based work as well as written analyses of seniors housing markets, such as econometric analyses of property characteristics. Lead the annual production of the Seniors Housing Construction Trends Report and contribute to the biannual production of NIC Investment Guide.
• Work extensively with the NIC MAP, Construction Trends, Key Metrics, and transactional databases, with specific responsibilities in the areas of the developing, documenting and managing methodologies/procedures for data queries and protocol for working with data. The databases include property-level, market fundamental and financial metrics.
• Continue developing and refining all research related items with regard to the NIC MAP business line. This includes leading the development of all data collection procedures/methods, quality control as well as the reporting of metrics and analysis of data, such as tracking construction projects, collection of transactional records, and the quantification of leasing concessions.
• As a senior member of the Research team, participate in implementing the overall research plan for NIC and NIC MAP in order to align NIC’s research objectives and NIC’s mission. Assist in the identification of emerging and future trends for prospective tracking and analysis.
• Effectively train and mentor fellow Research staff to assist with the overall team’s development.
• Facilitate NIC’s research mission and policies by working with and collaborating with fellow Research team members as well as NIC’s MAP, IT, Events and Marketing staffs.
• Maintain research related relationships with outside organizations including other data providers, economic organizations, think tanks, university-based research teams, and other industry associations.
• Periodically represent NIC and/or present at industry/real estate conferences and with NIC constituents.
