Job Summary:


Begin a challenging and exciting internship with the Executive Office of the President (EOP) providing support to the President of the United States. The EOP is comprised of The White House, Executive Residence, Office of the Vice President, Office of the United States Trade Representatives, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Office of the National Drug Control Policy, Office of Management and Budget, Office of Administration, National Security Staff, Council on Environmental Quality, and Council of Economic Advisers. The EOP has responsibility for tasks ranging from communicating the President's message to the American people to promoting our trade interests abroad. The Office of Administration is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated students to serve as unpaid student interns to assist in the performance of its mission of providing support services for the President. OA views student interns as the future of the Federal workforce. The Office of Administration Student Internship Program provides the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. Participants in the program will be exposed to the Federal work environment and will learn about the mission of the Office of Administration and its role and responsibility to the Executive Office of the President.


Fall 2011 internship are available within the Office of Administration with an anticipated begin date of Monday, August 29, 2011 and end date of December 16, 2011. The intern position lasts for a period of 89 days and interns are expected to work at least 15-20 hours per week.

Key Requirements:

* Must be a US citizen or national.
* Reqistered with the Selective Service, if a male born after Dec. 1, 1959.
* Must be in good academic standings.
* Subject to pre-employment and random drug tests.
* RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE PAID.
* Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree seeking student.



Major Duties:

Financial: Assisting with developing component budget tables, reviewing narrative description; drafting and editing bulletins, researching and providing information on various financial laws and regulations; perform basic accounting and financial analysis work; and, perform a variety of supporting services for traveling EOP staff.

Procurement/Contracts: Assisting in the processing of various procurement contracts; maintaining proper acquisition procedures, and utilizing electronic procurement systems.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants applying to participate in the Unpaid Student Internship Program must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a US Citizen.

2. At least 18 years of age.

3. Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student, taking at least a half-time academic course load in an accredited program.

4. Be in good accredited standings (at least 3.0).

Student must submit all required documents by the April 15, 2011 deadline. Materials will be reviewed by the Student Internship Human Resources Coordinator.

Benefits:
Transportation subsidy benefits will be given to interns relying public transportation.

Other Information:

The Fall 2011 Student Internship Program will begin August 29, 2011 and end Demeber 16, 2011. The Interns are expected to work at least 15-20 hours per week.
