Description: INTERNAL SEARCH: Under the direction of the Assistant to
the Head, the Program Coordinator assists in the day to day operations
of the Public Administration department. UIC IS AN AA/EOE.

Duties: Provide administrative support for the department's academic
programs including the processing of admissions materials and admissions
decisions, communicating with the Office of Admissions and Records,
following up with applicants when applications are not complete,
computing applicant GPAs.

Provide assistance with initiatives for the growth of the MPA program
and with special marketing projects to promote the department's graduate
program.

Assist the Assistant to the Head of PA and faculty in the review of
graduation certification and petitions.

Serve as Webmaster/Content Manager for department's website; edit,
create, and update web content as needed. Independently create, design
and upload complicated departmental Website pages and changes.

Coordinate, market, and facilitate school-wide forums, open houses,
virtual open houses, retreats and other events.

Manage staff and faculty committee meetings - create agendas/minutes and
communicate with committee members.

Create and run reports and analyze surveys for student feedback. Manage
the process for student evaluations of courses.

Advise current graduate students about administrative aspects of course
enrollment, research, fellowships and career opportunities.

Inform potential graduate students about admissions and respond to
general inquires about program requirements.

Supervises designated student employee

Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree; minimum 2 years experience
in a graduate academic program; knowledge of UIC BANNER systems,
Blackboard, Business Objects and other related University systems and
databases; proficiency in web design and Microsoft Office: Publisher,
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Video
editing.

Other Desirable Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written
communication skills; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under deadlines; demonstrated self-starter and
have creative problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and
as a team-member; able to communicate effectively with multiple
constituencies: faculty, students, other staff, other departments.
