JOB TITLE: Management Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs administrative support and management analysis of the various operations and activities of the Village.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• May serve as primary staff liaison to Human Relations Commission
• Assist in the formulation and development of administrative policies, annual budget and capital improvement program.
• Conduct management studies of various department programs and activities, as assigned.
• Manage the Village website, ensuring that the website has up-to-date information and assisting other departments as needed.
• Accepts, records and ensures response by cable operators of resident cable complaints; monitor compliance by cable operator of terms and conditions of cable franchise agreement, as assigned.
• Assist with service and program evaluation including creation and administration of surveys, cost-benefit analysis and identifying areas for improvement. Tracks quarterly performance measures across departments.
• Participate on various employee committees such as safety, special events and employee activities.
• Assists with answering phones in the Manager’s Office and may be required to perform some customer service functions, as needed.
• Assist with other special projects and reports as requested and conduct other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field. Acceptance in Public Administration or related graduate school program.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, SPECIAL SKILL, OR KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Individual must have knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal administration and the use of computer systems for data analysis and reports. In addition, the individual must be able to gather and analyze pertinent information and provide sound recommendations to effect improvements in the Department. Also, the individual must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective and harmonious relationships with fellow employees, other departments, management staff and the general public.
COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to learn how to update the Village website and train others in regards to updating the website
