The Washington. DC LISC office seeks candidates for an internship
working with its Community Development Support Collaborative. The
position will join the 5 person Washington, DC LISC team.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), widely recognized as the
nation’s premier community development intermediary, has a 30 year
history of providing financial and technical assistance to
community-based organizations and public entities focused on the
redevelopment of urban neighborhoods and rural communities. The
organization works in metropolitan areas and rural communities
throughout the nation to assist its various partners in the development
of affordable multi-family and senior housing, homeownership
opportunities, commercial enterprises, community facilities and various
community-building programs. LISC works with its partners to make

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director of Community Development Support Collaborative with
o preparing correspondence, reports and proposals;
o staffing steering committee;
o handling logistics for meetings and travel
o updating electronic newsletter, webpage, etc.
o managing private grant portfolio
• Perform research, prepare documents and provide support and
information for community based nonprofits concerning the work being
done in our sustainable communities neighborhoods
• Assist with grant reviews, site visits, and performance tracking of
publicly funded predevelopment grant program

Qualifications
• Must work as a member of a team and accomplish solo projects
• Currently enrolled as a graduate student
• Ability to navigate and travel in Washington, DC neighborhoods a plus
• Very good research skills
• Ability to prepare well written reports and documents
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
Suite and multi-media software.
• Proficient in internet usage for research and data gathering
• Ability to work a set schedule of at least 20 hours per week
