SUMMARY
Jensen Partners is a planning and program management firm with a strong focus in healthcare, education, science and technology and urban development. Our team includes strategists, architects, financial planners, clinicians and healthcare specialists, engineers and construction specialists.
This position is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating and expediting activities of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished within a defined schedule and budget. Work is accomplished both directly and through effective collaboration or delegation. The Project Manager supports client relations through direct interactions, project and team participation and leadership, and formal and informal reporting. Must be independently motivated with a strong collaborative approach; support provided through broad guidelines and regular input from Senior Project Manager and/or Principal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Core duties and responsibilities include the following at varying levels of delegated responsibility and accountability based on skills and experience. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Develops and manages project proposals and plans to determine time frame, funding parameters, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
- Responsible for full life-cycle project management (inception through implementation) and facilitates the definition of business requirements and functional specifications
- Assures project provides client value and provides regular client communication to demonstrate project value.
- Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and works as appropriate with senior PM or Principal for assignment of project personnel.
- Confers with project staff to outline work plans and to accomplish or assign duties and responsibilities. Projects, tracks and reports team hours and expenses.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget according to contractual terms.
- Prepares or reviews status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required.
- Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
- Confers with project personnel to provide advice in areas of expertise and to resolve problems.
- Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies, as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. B.Arch., B.S) from four-year College or university; and four years related experience and/or training in a healthcare or construction related environment.
OR
Master’s degree (M.A, M.Arch., MS, MHA, MBA) and two years of related work experience and/or training. At least half of those years should be in a healthcare-related environment.

Service Analyst

Summary of Duties
Reporting directly to the Department Head, Systems Performance and Data, the Service Analyst, will collect and analyze ridership, and financial operating data. Provide support for commuter rail planning activities using a broad range of planning techniques from quantitative analyses. Review and validate the accuracy of several projects in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), conduct research and update databases and graphs. Prepare and provide comprehensive operating reporting statistics to the National Transit Database (NTD) and other agencies and organizations. Work with teams to identify and reconcile any reporting discrepancies related to ticket sales and ridership reporting. Audit key operating statistics for reporting to ensure consistency. Provide statistical and data analysis as needed. Represents Metra at regional committees and task forces. Fulfill requests for data from other Metra departments and outside requestors. Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Must have Bachelor's degree in Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Market Research, Urban Planning or a related field.  Master’s degree with an emphasis on quantitative methods preferred.
  • Must have two (2) years applied experience with statistical and other quantitative analyses. Applied data management and survey research experience is preferred.
  • Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amount of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to comprehend technical material.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Knowledge of database management, statistical software, SQL, programming/script/macro languages, transportation planning software, OBIEE, and geographic information systems preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of Duties

Reporting directly to the Department Head, Long Range Planning, the Planning Analyst will serve as lead Metra representative in various station area planning studies. Perform planning activities in support of Metra's strategic planning efforts and other regional, corridor, and station planning studies of the Metra rail system including planning for major capital expansion projects. Participates in and executes elements of commuter rail planning studies. Research various proposals, initiatives, and regulatory guidelines. Perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Urban, Regional, Transportation Planning, Business Administration, Geography, Economics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics. Master’s degree preferred.
  • In addition to #1, must have two (2) years of hands-on experience with statistical, other quantitative analyses, geographic analysis, data management or travel demand forecasting. Experience should include significant project/task management.
  • Experience with quantitative methods preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical materials.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communications skills essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred.

Research Fellowship, Office of Sustainable Communities, Environmental Protection Agency - Washington, D.C.

New Research Fellowship in EPA's Office of Sustainable Communities
A postgraduate research project training opportunity is currently available at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help on equity issues and to support the Making A Visible Difference in Communities effort in the Office of Policy (OP).
The appointment will be served with the Office of Sustainable Communities (OSC) in Washington, D.C. This research project will focus on: 
·         Evaluation of effectiveness and impact of agency-wide delivery of technical assistance to communities; 
·         Analysis of EPA technical assistance programs to help underserved and disadvantaged communities to address multiple environmental challenges and build capacity for long term sustainability; and
·         Identification and application of methods/practices for integration of environmental justice and equitable development in OSC's technical assistance programs. 
The appointment is full time for one year and may be renewed upon recommendation of EPA and contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will receive a monthly stipend. Funding may be made available to reimburse the participant's travel expenses to present the results of his/her research at scientific conferences. No funding will be made available to cover travel costs for pre-appointment visits, relocation costs, tuition and fees, or a participant's health insurance. The participant must show proof of health and medical insurance. The participant does not become an EPA employee.
Qualifications:
·         Applicants must have received a master's degree in environmental studies, sustainability studies, statistics, econometrics and quantitative economics, geographic information science, management science or quantitative methods within five years of the desired starting date, or completion of all requirements for the degree should be expected prior to the starting date.
·         U.S. citizenship is required. The program is open to all qualified individuals without regard to race, sex, religion, color, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, or status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran.
