GIS Research Analyst - OSU (Columbus, Ohio)

Who: The Ohio State University, Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA)

What: CURA seeks a GIS Research Analyst to develop and manage community and campus outreach in GIS, mapping and spatial data analytics. Responsibilities include developing and managing partnerships with community organizations, NGOs and local/state government in areas of strategic importance in the application of GIS and spatial data for policy support, delivering educational and outreach events to promote GIS and The Ohio State University’s urban mission and technical support and management of ESRI software and related resources for campus.

Qualifications: (required) Master’s degree in GIS, computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience developing and managing partnerships with government and/or community organizations; considerable experience in research involving GIS, mapping and geospatial data; experience with ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Desktop), Javascript and related we programming tools; familiarity with spatial database technologies (SQL Server, PostgreSQL with Post GIS spatial extensions), SQL, Python, R or other query and Scripting languages. Desired qualifications include Geographic Information Science Professional Certification; experience with ESRI GIS Software Insights and Portal. This is a term position for two years with the possibility of continuation for a third year.

Benefits: $48,500.00 - $54,000.00 Annually
