Development Specialist I (Kansas City, MO)

Who: Kansas City, MO City Planning & Development Department, Long Range Planning Division

What: The Development Specialist performs complex and difficult analysis and research associated with the Market Value Assessment program and current/future development matters related to city planning. Develops and maintains relations with a wide variety of governmental and private agencies, assessing trends related to land usage, identifying patterns in the local housing market, creating and maintaining associated data, and communicating process approaches and findings to community members, city staff and elected official. Uses reasonable independence, resourcefulness and initiative in executing assigned duties and responsibilities.


Qualifications: an accredited Bachelor's degree in economics, sociology, multi-disciplinary social science or urban affairs, city planning, public or business administration, engineering, architecture, energy conservation or related field and 3 (OR an accredited Master's degree in one of the aforementioned fields and 1) years of progressively responsible, related professional experience in the applicable specialty; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Preference given for advanced knowledge of using the ESRI ArcGIS software.
