Associate - City First Enterprises (DC)

Who: Impact driven community development financial institution (CDFI) focused on promoting equity and opportunity by providing increased access to capital and promoting affordable housing in underserved communities with the goal of ensuring the long term well-being of residents.

What: City First is seeking an individual for an associate position to be support general office operations and administration and assist in programmatic activities with a focus on City First Homes and its affordable housing initiatives.



Operations and Administration
▪ Manage administrative tasks and vendor relations;
▪ Coordinate with program staff to develop and implement measures to improve efficiency internally and within the broader City First organization;
▪ Aid in the ongoing development of and implementation of institutional policies, systems and infrastructure; and
▪ Assist with Board and Committee functions including preparing and distributing reports and other meeting materials.

Program Support
▪ Aid in the management of City First Homes’ affordable housing resale program and with ongoing efforts to establish a community land trust;
▪ Help to underwrite and close shared equity loans; and to coordinate and expand the pool of program lenders
▪ Administer an annual survey of residents / participants
▪ Oversee HomeKeeper (SalesForce based program management platform) data collection
▪ Perform property inspections and covenant enforcement
▪ Prepare presentation materials and other information; and
▪ Other activities as needed including periodically assisting with activities related to the City First Enterprise’s Loan Fund.

Qualifications:
 • strong, mission-driven interest in community development finance and the work of community development financial institutions
 • Interest in affordable housing, combatting displacement and promoting equitable development.
 • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, real estate, or urban planning or alternatively, relevant work experience.
 • Strong computer skills (and aptitude for learning new ones), including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs, Google Suite Apps, and SalesForce.
 • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 • Capable of managing multiple tasks to completion.
 • Ability to work effectively in a team/open office environment.
