Planner I (HSTP Coordinator) 

The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission is seeking a Planner I to work as Regional Human Services Transportation Plan Coordinator. The candidate selected will work under the supervision of the Planning and Community Development Director and in concert with rural public transportation service providers and agencies, etc. in Region 8, which is comprised of 12 counties in the east central part of the State of Illinois.

Under general supervision, the Planner I will work on a wide variety of professional planning projects including but not limited to: Develop and Maintain Various Regional Inventories of stakeholders, transportation services, vehicles and capital assets, conduct an assessment of public and specialized transportation needs and gaps; Develop and Maintain a Regional Human Services Transportation Plan; Conduct Various Funding Program Reviews and Inspections and provide the following technical assistance to Section 5310 and 5311 recipients in Champaign, Vermilion, Edgar, Douglas, Coles, Cumberland, Clark, Shelby, Moultrie, Macon, Piatt, and Dewitt Counties in Illinois.

This is a full time (37.5 hours/week) position with benefits. Salary based on experience; $19.68/hr. minimum.

Minimum qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office products and ArcGIS is required, website maintenance and Adobe Creative Suite experience is desirable. A Bachelor’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Community Development, Public Administration, or a similar educational experience is desired. Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and have a valid driver’s license.
