ASSOCIATE/SENIOR PLANNER(Associate: $68,675-$83,472; Senior: $79,491-$96,633) The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate or Senior Planner. The position will work on a wide variety of projects within the Rural-Urban Connections Strategy (RUCS) project, which focuses on rural economic and environmental viability as part of the region’s policy, planning and economic goals and objectives. The specific position and salary level will be determined on final candidate qualifications and experience. This position will function as the Project Coordinator for the RUCS project, which includes project coordination functions focused primarily on internal project oversight, including, but not limited to: managing budgets and timelines, coordinating staff, scheduling meetings, and identifying and fulfilling project administration needs. This position reports to the RUCS Project Manager. The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is seeking qualified candidates for a two year, limited term planner position at the junior or assistant level. The individual in this position will work with land use, economic and demographic data in support of the Sacramento Metropolitan Transportation Plan /Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP/SCS), the Blueprint Project, and other data-intensive activities.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: • Duties generally may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Complete very detailed and technical work using GIS, or a GIS software based tool. • Gather a variety of information and data for the preparation of planning reports and studies. • Assist in compiling, arranging, analyzing and interpreting data; analyze and summarize compiled data and present them in the form of reports, tables or statistical analyses. • Assist in making comparative studies of land use, or economic activities, housing, transportation, environmental factors and related subjects. • Research, investigate and survey available sources for information used in planning studies and related projects. Answer inquiries and assist the public in matters relating to the functions of SACOG. • Maintain liaison with agencies involved in or affected by planning studies and projects. • Plan and prepare moderately complex planning projects or significant portions of complex projects.
