Minimum Requirements:
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
• Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning with a focus on Transportation, Transportation Planning, Transportation and Public Policy or similar field, or currently in pursuit of Master Degree in Transportation Planning or Urban Planning with focus on Transportation
• Knowledge of transportation planning, transit planning, land use / transit-oriented development projects and studies, in professional or academic/research or internship capacity
• Familiarity with data sources and analysis concepts in transportation planning
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite tools, with facility with GIS
• Clear and succinct writing style; confident oral-communication and presentation skills
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and balance roles on multiple projects
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The Infrastructure & Engineering Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Planner for immediate employment in the Chicago office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an interest in multi-modal transportation, transit and land use/TOD planning supported by related academic achievements and research or other internship positions. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including long range transportation plans, strategic investment and prioritization plans, feasibility and concept studies, alternative analysis and environmental analysis projects, and other urban and regional planning projects.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Gather, manipulate, synthesize and present data, including socio-economic, transportation metrics, and other; analyze and propose interpretations and conclusions
• Prepare internal and client-facing documents and deliverables in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and GIS, including written work products, charts and tables, and map graphics
• Produce high quality work products under project manager direction, using practices of detailed checking of work and quality control
