*Job Summary*:  The University of Connecticut Department of Public Policy (DPP) and Department of Educational Leadership seek to fill a tenured or tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor or professor.  The NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program (MPA) is located in DPP in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Neag School of Education is home to both the Department of Educational Leadership and the Center for Education Policy Analysis (CEPA).

We are interested in a scholar with an excellent research record in education policy and/or education finance. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to CEPA's research mission to inform educational leaders and policymakers on issues related to the development, implementation and consequences of education policies. The University of Connecticut is a premier research institution--designated as a Research University/Very High research activity by the Carnegie Foundation.

This appointment includes teaching in both the MPA program and the Education Leadership Department. The specific teaching assignment will be determined based on the abilities and interests of the candidate and the needs of DPP and the Educational Leadership Department.  Teaching assignments might include graduate or undergraduate classes on the Greater Hartford Campus where DPP is located or the main campus in Storrs. Duties include research, teaching and service to the Department and University.  The successful candidate's tenure home can be in either the Department of Public Policy or the Educational Leadership Department. The appointment is made on a nine month basis.

*Qualifications: *

Minimum Qualifications:   An earned Ph.D. in education policy, public administration, public policy, economics, or related field.  Candidates must have a record of scholarly excellence based on rigorous social science research methods.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated teaching excellence, a record of funded research, superior communication skills, who are comfortable with a wide array of analytical methods.  Candidates who contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience are preferred.

*Appointment Terms:*  Salaries are very competitive.  Rank and salary are based on qualifications and experience.
