The University of Illinois’ Office of Business and Financial Services – AVP for Business and Finance seeks a Contract Coordinator to oversee the Contracts Program, including training and dissemination of information to campus units, and to assist with Annual Conferences and Leadership Programs within the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance, Urbana-Champaign Campus. Additional responsibilities include:
1. Review and approve University Contracts. Working under the direction of the Associate Director for Business and Finance, complete business review and analysis of non-purchasing and non-research contracts, working with Office of University Counsel and other offices to determine related liability, risks, and financial matters. Sign Comptroller’s name to contracts and other documents as appropriate. Sign President’s name to University contracts for expenditures of $250,000 or more.
2. Set goals and objectives for procedures for contract processing and for communicating information about contract requirements to business offices throughout the campus.
3. Develop systematic approach for efficient workflow of contract processing within the electronic Illinois Contract System (iCS) as well as for contracts that will continue to be handled as hard copies. Continually evaluate contract processes, recommending policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service to customers. Assist customers with questions about iCS processing.
4. Develop, coordinate, and assist in conducting training classes for campus staff regarding contract issues and new and/or revised policies and procedures.
5. Assist with managing the Business Leadership Conferences and other annual training/informational programs offered by the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance in conjunction with campus offices.
6. Assist with developing and evaluating new programs and policies that improve partnership between the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance and campus business offices to conduct business with efficiency and necessary controls.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree (preferably in business administration) or related field and three years to five years of experience with the University of Illinois (preferred) or equivalent experience in a similarly complex organization is required. Other requirements include: excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to interpret and apply University policies and procedures related to contract functions; exceptional interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships; ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion; ability to manage confidential information; demonstrated self-motivation and initiative to develop new strategies and ideas to improve organizational operations/services; ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities to independently produce high-quality results that reflect accurate, detail-oriented work specialized knowledge about document imaging applications; proficiency with Microsoft computer programs/applications (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer) and ability to work from shared drive files, forms, and spreadsheets. Experience with University of Illinois business operations and familiarity with OBFS policies and procedures is strongly preferred.Applications
