Job Summary Bicycle sharing is a sustainable, healthy, and community-based transport option that enhances urban livability and mobility. Under contract with the City of Chicago DOT, Alta Bicycle Share is excited to announce the beginning of its operation of Chicago Bike Share and seeks to fill several key leadership roles leading up to system launch of 300 stations and 3000 bikes. Alta Bicycle Share seeks an experienced Operations Manager who will have overall responsibility of the operations team, from operations planning, through launch, and into regular daily bike share operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, training, and managing key staff; overseeing bike and station assembly and installation; overall management of key functional groups; and otherwise ensuring all safety and performance standards are met or exceeded. You’ll be a part of a groundbreaking team that focuses on the successful launch of an innovative bicycle transportation system with emphasis on building strong client relationships while exceeding the highest standards for service. Primary Responsibilities  Manage 4 key departments: station service department, bicycle service department, bicycle redistribution, and dispatch. Establish staffing plan and schedules necessary to achieve key performance indicators in each of the 4 key departments and beyond as needs dictate. Assist team in all aspects of launching Chicago Bike Share system while learning all aspects of the system. Launch activities will include: Training on all aspects of the bike sharing system. Obtaining facilities, vehicles and equipment to assemble and install hundreds of stations and thousands of bicycles. Coordination of multiple parties, including launch team, Chicago DOT, site planners, employees, and internal administration. Hiring and training hundreds of employees on assembly and installation of bikes and stations. Implementing established systems for health and safety, operations and data reporting. Lead all aspects of ongoing operations for Chicago Bike Share system after launch, including: Overall responsibility for “Street Team” staff on the order of 100: bicycle redistribution, bicycle maintenance, station maintenance and cleanliness, and emergency response. Close coordination with customer service team to listen to and serve the needs of the customers. Ensure safe workplace conditions and OHS compliance. Ensure development, improvement, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure timely and complete record keeping in all functional areas Work under the guidance of the General Manager.
