Description: This position will engage and report on mutual aid and non profit efforts in the immigrant/refugee/asylee space to understand their operations, gaps and needs to ensure that their experiences are included to inform government agency improvements and larger policy creation. They will organize existing resources and create communication networks for knowledge exchange across efforts in this space. They will work alongside the Deputy Mayor of Immigration and Committee Policy Director to coordinate meetings and spearhead initiatives that aim to increase community involvement/engagement.

Code Enforcement Inspector (Community Development) - City of Schaumburg
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is considered a civil enforcement officer responsible for the effective enforcement of community maintenance standards, performing inspections and services necessary for effective enforcement in residential, commercial, and industrial properties and businesses as required under Village codes and ordinances. Position requires self-discipline, accurate scheduling, spontaneous problem resolution, excellent verbal and written communication skills, provision of expert testimony in courts of law, and working autonomously. Decisions made by the inspector have a significant impact on the economic conditions of businesses and property and livelihood of residents.
Required to perform inspections and/or duties as designated, beyond the normal work day or work week including working Saturdays once every five weeks or as needed based on departmental need. The ideal candidate will need to effectively communicate to a full range of people, be able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals, and shift gears comfortably. We are looking to add a team member capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects with thoroughness and accuracy. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
STARTING PAY RATE: $30.41 - $34.00 per hour based on a 40-hour workweek. Salary dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $30.41 - $44.75. This position is represented by a union; you may refer to the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement available on our website.

Economic Development Incentives Research Analyst - Good Jobs First
Good Jobs First, a non-profit research center in Washington, DC seeks a research analyst to collect, compile and analyze data on economic development subsidy programs, deals and costs across the United States.
We promote corporate and government accountability in economic development, tracking the use of economic development subsidies as well as corporate misconduct. Through our databases, especially Subsidy Tracker and Tax Break Tracker, we provide the public with company- and locality-specific data related to which companies are receiving economic development subsidies and how much revenue communities lose to tax abatements.
This position is ideal for someone who can work independently but is also energized by working collaboratively – our researchers regularly work on joint projects and co-author published pieces. Though this position is heavy on research, data and policy analysis and providing technical assistance, there are opportunities to lead trainings and research webinars, agitate for better accountability and disclosure, and cross-train on other aspects of our work.
