Code Studio is an Austin-based planning consulting firm that focuses on plan implementation, and is known for its elegant, visual plans, zoning and form-based codes.
We’re looking for a new planner/graphic designer to participate as part of our team. The ideal candidate would communicate well both through their work and in the office. They will bring their experience in planning, architecture, landscape architecture or urban design to our work in communities across the country. We need immediate graphic design support including the creation of 3-D building and urban design models, and preparation of highly visual documents and elegant maps. We anticipate moving this person into an associate-level position over time.
The successful candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or Planning (Master’s Degree and work experience preferred);
  • Strong graphic design skills, with an advanced knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and SketchUp;
  • Working knowledge of GIS;
  • Excellent document writing and editing skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, clients and other consultants effectively; and
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct independent research and analysis.
Compensation is negotiable, but will include health care, paid time off and paid holidays, as well as the possibility of an annual bonus.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Urban Design is required. A Master’s degree in one of those fields is expected.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the Planning and Design Industry
  • Extensive experience with public engagement including week-long public design charrettes
  • Proven leadership skills as a part of a team.
  • Strong, sophisticated writing skills and excellent public presence in front of small groups and large audiences alike.
  • Proven experience in building rapport and trust with key clients, business leaders, and team members
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Full competency with Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office. CAD and/or CommunityViz proficiency is a plus.
  • Candidates work experience should demonstrate appropriate level of responsibility, work group leadership skills, understanding of the long term view in building client relationships, superior customer service and communication skills both written and graphic.
  • Desire and the ability to contribute on multiple levels within the design process are critical. Demonstrated responsibility, maturity and commitment to a team driven environment are key advantages.

PLANNER/GRAPHIC-DIGITAL DESIGNER
We are currently seeking aPlanner/Landscape Architect/Architect/Graphic Designer/Digital Designer,or related field, to work within our planning department to lead the team in producing graphics for the group and the company.   
Responsibilities:
Produce 3D models, renderings, surface models, massing studies, shadow studies, visualization studies, rendered site plans, project sketches, promotional material, and graphic support for website and social media.
Qualifications:
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Trimble Sketchup. Skilled in ArcGIS, Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrastructure Modeler, and 3D Studio Max), and Wordpress preferred but not a requirement.
Experience in planning, architecture, land planning, or landscape architecture is ideal but not a requirement.  Ideally the candidate will have a college degree in a related field and 0-5 years of experience.
