Program Coordinator (EDIC), Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago - Chicago, IL

 Job Description

The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Department of Pediatrics, Office of Medical Education, by leading the development and implementation of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Compassion and Wellbeing (EDICW) initiatives. Reporting to departmental leadership, the Coordinator will collaborate closely with medical education programs to promote EDICW projects across all levels of the department. This position involves organizing events for trainees and faculty, curating the department’s presence at regional and national EDICW conferences, helping develop, monitor, and lead EDICW programs, managing, tracking, and helping evaluate EDICW initiatives throughout the department, and working with HR, leadership, and various teams to integrate EDICW principles into recruitment, onboarding, training, career development, career satisfaction, and retention processes.  

The program coordinator will coordinate the daily operations of the program, acting as a key resource for program leaders and administrative liaisons. Responsibilities include managing and organizing activities to ensure the program runs smoothly. This role is responsible for the daily operations and decision making that supports a specific program or initiative. The coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling processes to achieve program objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints. 

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Partners closely with the Department of Pediatrics leadership teams, including the Associate Vice Chair of EDI, the Associate Vice Chair of Compassion and Wellness, and the Associate Director of Medical Education to implement Department Programs and initiatives.  

  • Acts on behalf of both Associate Chairs, establishing priorities, addressing administrative issues, responding to EDI and wellbeing-related inquiries, managing projects, and performing other duties as assigned. 

EDI 

  • Coordinates all aspects of annual Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) conferences. SNMA Regional, LMSA Regional and LGBTQ+ conferences, including ordering room blocks, coordinating trainee attendance, partnering with the Associate Chair for Diversity and Inclusion to coordinate conference attendance, ordering and shipping materials, and managing on-site activities. 

  • Oversees and plans Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) programs including the Visiting Medical Student Program, URiM Welcome Event, and URiM Residency and Fellowship Recruitment Panels by organizing logistics, finding locations, managing contracts, sending invitations, managing RSVPs, arranging menu and decorations and developing mentorship plans. 

  • Leads Fostering Equity and Allyship Through Simulation-based-education (FEATs) and Health Equity Rounds (HER) program coordination, including scheduling sessions, booking rooms, ordering food, sending reminders and materials to participants, and conducting follow-up evaluations. 

  • Serves as the administrative lead for the Education EDI Committee and the Pediatric Resident and Fellow Diversity Committee, ensuring monthly meetings are scheduled, rooms are booked, and agendas are set. 

  • Manages communication and outreach efforts, partnering with Marketing, Residency, and Fellowship Program Managers to oversee social media, website content, and the Pediatric Medical Education newsletter to align with EDI and URiM initiatives. 

Compassion 

  • Implements and supports wellbeing initiatives, including physician and trainee engagement programs, serving as the hub for communication to foster open dialogue and develop action plans across regions and divisions. 

  • Coordinates wellbeing events and programs, handling logistics such as scheduling, room bookings, food orders, sending reminders, conducting follow-up evaluations, and managing budgets for conferences, seminars, and webinars.  

  • Composes and drafts documents and correspondence for presentations, course handouts, grants, conferences, seminars, and reports; performs substantial editing and fact-checking. Creates, maintains, modifies, and/or ensures accuracy of content in various unit documents, displays, reports, brochures, social media, and/or websites. Conducts ongoing needs assessments and uses tools like Qualtrics, RedCap, and Excel for tracking and reporting.  

  • Oversees and/or process a variety of financial transactions; produces, monitors, and reconciles budget statements; researches, identifies, and resolves discrepancies. 

Other duties as assigned.   

1.Coordinates the daily operation of departments to confirm that assigned programs are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines.

2.Plan and takes proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery.

3.Coordinate communication with customers/clients to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules, and discuss any program problems.

4.Assist in documenting and maintaining registry, database, of client/program information. May include facilitating collection, tracking, and reporting of data and other project activities in a timely manner to demonstrate impact for internal reporting, grant applications, stewardship reports and other related requests. 

5.Regularly communicates with management regarding the program’s status and any problems or potential problems.

6.Assists in scheduling delays and develops alternate plans.

7.Ensure that the services provided reflect the needs and expectations of the program. 

8.Assist with the collection of feedback from members, volunteers, and staff to improve future programs/services. 

9.Coordinate activities in special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community. 

10.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Sr. Project Manager of Data Strategy - Heartland Alliance

Who: Heartland Alliance

What: The Senior Information and Data Strategist is responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of projects to establish and operationalize organizational information and data strategy, including administrative functions like supervision as well as serving as an agency spokesperson and active representative in internal and external contexts. Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of annual Success Objectives, within the framework outlined below.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Information and Data Planning and Outcomes Assessment

  • Supports the development and implementation of data and information strategy across Heartland Alliance. This includes assessing what participant data is needed to advance organizational strategy, identifying gaps, and providing technical assistance to companies as they develop processes for addressing data gaps.
  • Serves as evaluative consultant to guide company-wide, initiative-wide, and enterprise-wide strategic planning in relation to participant outcomes
  • Works closely with Innovation Team to establish information and data strategy needed to support design, development, and delivery of innovative programs.
  • Serves as leadership liaison between Alliance, IT, and company data/evaluation initiatives.
  • Provides ongoing Technical Assistance and thought work to HA leadership to manage and implement data and culture change.

Data Infrastructure Strategy

  • Collaboratively establishes enterprise’s business requirements for participant data, works closely with IT department to develop technological solutions (including, but not limited to, a data warehouse and data visualization software), and monitors their implementation.
  • Works closely with IT and company data owners to develop work plans that implement organizational data strategy.
  • Leads the development of organizational learning agendas based on our participant data and monitors their implementation.
  • Conducts project management to advance data strategy work plans.
  • Plays leadership role on Heartland Alliance data governance committee.

Capacity Building & Technical Assistance

  • Assists company and HA leadership and quality improvement staff in translating information and data into actionable lessons, and assesses the effectiveness of data-informed decision-making. This includes supervising the analysis of, developing lessons learned from, and communicating progress towards key performance indicators of Heartland Alliance’s strategic plan.
  • Facilitates processes with program staff to help them learn from their data, set data goals, and develop work plans.
  • Provides trainings, feedback, and other support related to best practices in internal evaluation (including research methodologies) and data strategy and implementation.

Project Design & Management

  • Serves as lead project manager on multiple projects.
  • Develops and implements project work plans.
  • Manages partner relationships, including communication with clients and other research stakeholders.
  • Develops expertise in data analytics and infrastructure, implementation science, and issue areas applicable to projects.
  • Develops data collection and analysis protocols for third party implementers.
  • Trains data collection team, including third party implementers.
  • Oversees/manages/supports data collection, data analysis, data reporting and communications.

  • Adheres to research ethics as outlined in Institutional Review Board protocols and agency policies.

Qualifications:

  • experience working with people with lived experience of poverty and non-profit programs.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in, R and/or SPSS, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word required. Basic familiarity with in SQL programming and data architecture required. Experience in Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools preferred. Proficiency in Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance.
  • Other Skills: Experience working with people who are very low income and people of different races and ethnicities.

Transportation Planner - San Francisco, CA

Currently MTC is recruiting for two (2) positions. Under supervision of the Principal for Policy and Programming Implementation and Senior Planner/Analyst, these positions are responsible for managing funding programs, working with transit operators and other stakeholders to develop and implement the programs; conducting financial analyses of transportation revenues and expenses; and producing and presenting progress reports and recommendations about the region's transportation program as necessary.

One Planner/Analyst - will serve as the manager of the Transit Capital Priorities program, which allocates federal transit and regional funds to transit operators, primarily to replace and rehabilitate transit capital assets and maintain the Bay Area's transit system in a state of good repair.

One Planner/Analyst - will manage the Transportation Equity Funding Program which includes the Lifeline Transportation Program and focuses on implementing funding programs and addressing policies to improve the mobility of senior, low-income and disabled populations.

Both positions will work closely with the project sponsors, which may include public transit operators and other public and private non-profit agencies, and with other MTC staff to manage these programs from beginning to end: identifying available funding; reviewing and understanding legislation and guidance documents; developing regional/program policies; issuing calls for projects and reviewing applications; developing annual programs; managing contracts, grants, or funding agreements; and monitoring project progress and expenditure of funds. Both positions may also serve as program manager for other related funding programs, or as the project manager for special studies and projects as needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The program coordinator will have the following skills to be successful in this position:
  • Communicate very effectively both orally and in writing.

Education: Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in public finance, public policy, public administration, business, civil engineering, city planning, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.(Applicants with a degree issued from an institution outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an academic accrediting service and provide proof of equivalency attached to the application.)

Experience: Must have a minimum of two (2) or more years of current, progressive and verifiable professional experience in a field related to the position. Two years of graduate work in a discipline directly related to the position may be substituted for one-year of the required experience. Experience interacting with government agencies is a plus.

Preference will be given to candidates with additional professional work experience in one or both of the following areas:
  • Complex public sector budgeting, financial analysis, and/or transportation asset management
  • Interest in improving transportation and mobility of senior, low-income and disabled populations

Knowledge of: Principles and techniques of public transportation project funding; and knowledge of government transportation programs, projects and project development, and funding procedures. Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet software is required.

PlanSmart NJ PlanSmart NJ, a non-profit planning and public policy organization in downtown Trenton, has an opening for a part-time Project Planner/GIS Specialist. PlanSmart NJ undertakes research, advocacy, public education and technical services. PlanSmart NJ explores and develops cutting edge planning concepts and brings a unique perspective to the field of land use planning.
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys innovative thinking as much as detailed analysis. We are a team-based organization, working closely together to share ideas, offer feedback, and provide helping hands on whatever the job at hand requires. We expect each person, however, to be a self-starter, a person who can work independently and take responsibility for her/his work. The successful candidate will be a member of a small planning team, and be involved with projects that cover a range of topics, including the economy, the environment, housing, transportation, urban revitalization, regional equity, and state, regional and local planning. Upcoming work will involve research and mapping analysis for PlanSmart NJ’s Repurposing Stranded Assets Project.
This project is using existing real estate and demographic data to assess the state of New Jersey’s commercial and real estate market. Through data collection and literature review, the project will identify common constraints and opportunities to repurpose underutilized office and retail centers to better function in the 21st Century economy and environment. In addition to project work, the planner will assist with website updates, Constant Contact messages, and social media to communicate project updates.
Job responsibilities will include a range of research and planning activities, depending on the annual work program, including such things as:
  1. GIS and statistical analysis of economic and other data – making maps, spreadsheets, and graphs, 
  2. Interaction with development professionals, environmental advocates, corporate and business representatives, government officials and the press, and 
  3. Refining our technical planning tools, concepts and strategies for use on a regional scale.
Qualifications/Skills
