The Metropolitan Area Planning Council seeks a Chief Housing Planner to join a growing team of planners and professionals who are committed to building a more sustainable and equitable future. This position involves undertaking local visioning and master planning, drafting plans, and updating land use bylaws in order to help local communities become more vibrant and sustainable. In addition, the Planner will assist improving state public policies to encourage smart growth and regional collaboration. The Planner will work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and innovative environment with professionals who are committed to building a more sustainable and equitable future.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in urban/regional planning, public policy/management, urban design/architecture, or a related field. The planner will have at least 4 years of relevant professional experience including experience in staff supervision, developing or implementing housing plans, professional planning assistance to local governments.

Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
