Job Summary
The NPN Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the organization and, as such, is responsible for the overall operations and management of the organization. This includes the implementation of the vision, mission and values; maintenance of high-level program and service quality; management of staff and resources; strategic planning; and execution of policy and protocol as established by the Board of Directors. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The NPN Executive Director is responsible for the following:
- Management and administration of the organization, including operations, staff, and finances
- Oversight, planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization's programs and services, including all NPN school and resource fairs, programs & events, tools and technologies
- Direction and management of all fundraising efforts, including online auctions, annual gala and 5K race
- Maintenance of relationships with Board of Directors, volunteers and stakeholders
- Organizational marketing and communications, including advertising, outreach, social media and public relations
- Leading the efforts on long term strategic planning, including web and online strategies
- Operationalization of strategic plans into annual goals, objectives and metrics
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and five or more years’ experience in either executive management, association management, or community/volunteer leadership
- A broad understanding of technology and issues, especially as it relates to online resources, such as NPN’s discussion board and website
- Experience working with non-profit or volunteer programs
- Successful experience in fundraising and donor relations
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- An ability to think strategically and critically
- An ability to connect to parenting issues and parents
- An ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders
- Strong fiscal management skills and understanding
- An ability to manage a team and lead in a virtual environment
- The capacity to anticipate future needs in a rapidly growing organization and changing environment
