We have an immediate requirement for a Facilities Planning Consultant – Urban/City Planner to join the Infrastructure Planning Division (IPD) within Facilities Planning Department based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The Facilities Planning Department is responsible for the development and coordination of the capital program throughout the Company. The Infrastructure Planning Division is responsible for all non-process and infrastructure facilities, including environmental and non-electrical utilities for all Business Lines new or existing facilities. | |
| The successful candidate must have the following experience, competencies & skillsets: B.S. in Regional and Community Planning/City Planning or other related qualification from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential. Fifteen years’ experience working with municipal government and consultation firms. Competency in managing master plans and land use studies. Experience in site analysis and land use planning. Knowledge of fundamentals of the planning process. Knowledge of applicable local and regional planning laws and standards. Understanding of zoning, subdivision regulations and design review process. Understand architectural and urban design principles. Possess excellent written and oral communications and technical presentation skills. | |
| The
successful candidate conducts and manages the community master plans
and land use studies addressing corporate future growth areas including
support facilities requirements. Provide professional planning support on urban and regional development, land use application process, urban design, sustainability and environmental considerations. Prepare scoping papers to define capital projects on urban and support facilties. Interface with Operating Organizations, New Business Development, Engineering and Project Management. Prepare and make presentations to Corporate Management. Provide full time consultation to Saudi Aramco management and other organizations. Mentor the training of future Facilities Planning Specialists. | |
| The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties. | |
