CountyStat is an outcome-focused, data-driven "executive-information system" intended to drive
performance accountability and transparency, and provide the objective assessment of County
operations to management and other stakeholders. The primary purpose of this position is to provide
detailed and complex analysis and interpretation of raw "real time" operations-related, programmatic,
and fiscal data collected from all County departments, and to format data summaries into digital tables,
charts, maps, and other graphics for presentation and discussion at CountyStat meetings where top
officials monitor, assess, and discuss County departments' operations, effectiveness, efficiency, and
performance against goals and objectives. The analyst will also conduct site visits for on-site
observation and data collection at various levels of operations within assigned departments and collect
and evaluate information and data concerning daily operations, performance, budget utilization, and
inter-agency coordination -- to be incorporated into performance measures.

This recruitment is for Public Administration Intern (PAI) underfilling a career ladder series Senior
Management and Budget Specialist, grade 27. Series includes Management and Budget Specialist I, II
and III (grades 18, 22, and 25).

This position requires the ability to attend meetings and/or perform work duties outside of the office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: None.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Note: Some occupational fields for which the PAI class is used for training and specialized experience
require a specific professional Bachelor's Degree.

PREFERRED CRITERIA
Resume must include information specific to the preferred criteria listed below. Make sure that your
resume references your knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to the preferred criteria. Ideally, the
preferred criteria should be addressed in a separate section in your resume. The system only allows for one
document to be submitted so your preferred criteria must be part of the resume.

(1) Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of program evaluation, process
improvement, and/or quantitative analysis.
(2) Experience in data gathering, interpretation, and analysis methods and approaches as applied to
the critical analysis of large volumes of data.
(3) Experience using technology to gather, manipulate, synthesize, interpret, critically analyze and
accurately and objectively present data in concise form (e.g. graph, chart or table) to a diverse
set of targeted audiences and in making presentations of information.
(4) Knowledge of and experience working with a broad set of technologies such as Oracle, GIS, and
MS Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The selection interview will evaluate such things as: experience developing and implementing
benchmarks, operational metrics, key performance indicators, logic models, surveys, or other types of
scorecards or evaluation tools and reports.
