Manager, Budget & Forecasting

Manager, Budget & Forecasting

Summary of Duties:

Reporting directly to the Director, Budget, prepares annual operating budget for sales tax and revenues and monitors budgetary performance throughout the year. Provides projections for financial presentations and external SEC-oriented reporting requirements. Tracks and forecasts sales tax, ridership/revenue, consumer price index and other economic data on a regular basis. Track data used for adjustments to the current budgets and development of future budgets. Participates in the development and implementation of next year’s operating budget goal and guidelines. Prepares and maintains analysis tools in support of the assumption book given to the Board Budget Committee. Promotes safe work practices as well as maintains and fosters a safe work environment. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.


Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field. A CPA, CMA, MBA or MPA is a plus.
• In addition to #1, a minimum of three (3) years of progressive finance and/or accounting experience which, includes financial analysis and forecasting.
• Progressively responsible financial analysis experience in railroading, transportation or related industry.
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills in dealing with all levels of management, external groups and organizations required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Must have excellent analytical, oral and written communications skills.
• Supervisory experience required.
